Drew's 88 GT (Page 1/3)

Hello All-
I bought my dream Fiero GT back in 2021 and have been slowly restoring/modding it. My first Fiero was back in 2001 and was an 87 GT. I fell in love with that car and learned how to work on cars with that one. This is my third Fiero and I love it. I have always wanted an 88 Red Exterior with Beechwood Interior in Manual Trans and Sunroof or T-Top. I found this one on a classic car dealer website with one owner and just under 25,000 original miles for $14,500. I had to buy it. Over the last three years, I have kept it stock until recently. I couldn't bring myself to mod an original survivor and didn't want to depreciate the value. I have decided to keep it as long a possible but I still keep the miles low. Over the last three years, I only put 1600 miles on it. After a couple years, I finally got a hold of the original owner. He lived near the plant for the duration of ownership and was a worker at Pontiac. He only drove it in the summers and only for the first 10 years. It was last registered in 1998 and mostly sat until I bought it in 2021. I have all the original selling docs minus the original window sticker. The car was in great shape minus some minor cracks in the paint front and rear bumpers. I can't complain, it's the best Fiero I've owned.

I replaced the following parts:
BF Goodrich TA Tires Original Size
Front and Rear Brake Rotors and Pads
Spark Plugs
Air Filter
EGR Vent Tube
Headlights
Windshield Wipers
Battery

I have recently upgraded the following parts:
WCF Front Lowering Spring (1.5-2") 25 1/2" Front Wheelwell
Poly Front Sway Bar Links
Poly Front Ball Joint Bushings
FieroGuru Rear Coilovers (Lowered all the way) 26 1/4 Rear Wheelwell
Poly Rear Sway Bar Links
Enkei TS-V 18x8 Front 18x8.5 Rear both 45mm Offset
245/35/18 Front 265/35/18 Rear (was worried for front tires as I've never seen anyone run that size, no rubs anywhere)
Mr Mikes Italian Leather Seats
Lloyd's Carpet Floor Mats
Grip Royal Suede Steering Wheel (have the original, I chose to store it for preservation)

To Do List:
Wash/Clay Bar/Wax
FieroGuru Front 12" Brakes
LS4/F40 Swap (Long Term down the road)
Exhaust
Short Shifter
R134 AC Conversion

Pics to come

Looks great!

This is what it looked like when I bought it

This was after I got it delivered and did some minor maintenance

These are pics from the brakes and suspension. I highly recommend Fieroguru coilovers and WDF front springs. I went with 400# front and 300# rear.

Did it have the power lumbar option? It looked like it did in your early pictures, if so, that is an exceedingly rare option, on par with the t-tops.

It does have the lumbar option. Unfortunately when I did the leather seats, I noticed the original lumbar bags were shot. I decided to removed the lumbar for now, but still have the pump and switch on hand for down the road. With the options I have, I calculated under 100, 88 fieros with these options

Yeah, you can register your Fiero on Fiero hub, it has some statistics like that. Rodney Dickman had them, but doesn't any more, he says the bags from a 1988 Corvette will work.

Yeah I'm on there.

I saw he had them. The prob with the corvette is there is no side bags for bolsters, only back. Like I said I'll deal with it down the road to keep that factory option.
