3.5/3.9 V6 swap question (Page 1/1)
Cajun MAY 16, 10:46 AM
For those of you who have done or in the process of doing a Chevy 3.5/3.9 v6 swap, how did you address the EVAP (Evaporative Emission System)? I have not seen any mention of the EVAP in posted 3.5/3.9 v6 swaps.

Or did you just eliminate the EVAP?

I am trying to finish up my wiring harness and that information would be good to know how others have addressed the EVAP.

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Surely there are some 3.5/3.9 v6 swap guys out there that can provide some sort of response? Good bad or otherwise.

What have you done to address the EVAP issue?

Thanks

Post this in the Tech Section (or ask Cliff to move it). La Fiera and Lou Dias both have experience with these motors... and can definitely answer those questions.

The Fiero evap system works off of differential vacuum from the throttle body, one port before the throttle blade, the other port after the throttle blade.

Does the throttle body on your engine have an port behind the throttle blade that is available?

If it does, you could use the OEM Fiero setup.

Thanks olejoedad for the feedback.

How do I contact the two individuals you mentioned that have experience with the 3.5 v6 swap?

82-T/A may not have seen that you asked this question, so I'll answer that for him. I believe you have two choices:

1) Use the 'Search' feature and look for either of the user names. On any posting where they appear you can click the PM button and it will send them a message, but I think it might create a Topic/Title based on the posting you clicked through.

2) See the picture below. At that menu level, click the Memberlist and look for their names. You can PM them directly that way, unless they have disabled it.

Yeah, sorry about that. I didn't see the response. Thanks!

I know that the two of them don't normally check "General," they more hang out in the tech area.
