1988 Suspension Questions and Feedback (Page 1/1)
NewDustin JUN 05, 10:55 AM
For some background on this, I bought an '88 Formula that had it's rear taken apart from a stalled transmission repair; cradle out, engine off cradle, all rear suspension disassembled. I'm missing sway bar end links, the strut assemblies, the knuckles, the wheel bearing assemblies, both rotors, and one of the brake calipers from the rear. All of the bushings are shot. Good news: The front suspension is all there!

Here's my plan:
I'm planning on replacing the lateral control arms with the rod ends that fieroguru has such a great write up on.
fieroguruperformance.com has fully assembled rear coilovers, as well as rotor upgrades that will replace my missing rear rotors. Once he's taking orders and my budget has refreshed I'm hoping to order both!
The wheel bearing assemblies I'm hoping to pick up from The Fiero Store.
I checked with Lonnie at the Las Vegas Fiero Club, and they have the knuckles but they're on cars. Looking around to try to see if some are available without taking them off a car, but so far no luck.
I'm hoping to replace my missing caliper in the meantime, and maybe use them for cores for the Fiero Store rebuilt ones.

For the front, I'm on the list for Will's list for spherical bearings for my lower A arms.

Beyond that I'm hoping to replace all other bushings with rubber. I don't really want to sacrifice ride quality much further than those changes since I plan to use this as an around-town driver. But where does one find rubber bushings for an '88 rear trailing control arm? Or the sway bars? Or the front upper A arms? A lot of what I'm finding is dated or doesn't apply to the '88

Glad to see someone planning out their work and upgrades!

Rodney sells the rear trailing link rubber bushings (the page lists all rear bushings, but you can select just the trailing link ones):
https://rodneydickman.com/p....php?products_id=358

Also the rubber sway bar bushings:
https://rodneydickman.com/p....php?products_id=345

The rubber bushings for the front are available from The Fiero Store:

I didn't realize Rodney was still taking orders. I don't know what led me to that assumption, but that makes your post double good news! Thanks Guru!
