Fiero in Connecticut (Page 1/2)

Hey, is there anyone in the Hartford, CT area who would be willing to check out a car for me? I'm in central Virginia. I started sending a few private messages to members whose location was listed as CT but then got blocked from the site with a refused connection - guess the security system didn't care for my activity!

Thanks for considering! I've been trying to find an 84-87 manual in running condition with an interior that isn't too bad. I'm not hung up on the model or engine, just want to start in without a huge investment.

Diz

What is your comfortable price range and would you consider an automatic or only a manual? Also a do you want a notchback or a fastback?

To give you a little start, this is in Bedford VA and is $2995 It's an 87 automatic with the 6cyl.

It's so cliche, but I'm trying to keep it under five grand. However, if it was a really super deal, I might be willing to spend more - maybe up to $10K. Really appreciate you posting that car in Bedford as an example. I actually saw it online when it was up for option in North Carolina - I think it sold for between $600-800. Pretty sure it's inoperable, but it might be worth the call to see. You never know!

And to fully answer your question, I'd accept notchback or fastback. I'd prefer a manual (even though I'll sheepishly admit that I don't really know how to drive stick yet) but I'd consider a really great bargain on an automatic, especially if it was a silver GT fastback.

This may be the one you're talking about or maybe not but it is a great deal.

On principle alone, I wouldn't buy an automobile from someone who frames a car shot like this.

But those are some of the people who don't know what the value is of what they have, thereby giving you a great deal!

Edited to remove extra picture just for you.

Dude, that's a fantastic car. That's what I have... except mine is medium metallic red. That's a 1987 SE/V6, which is fairly uncommon... even more so with the 5-Speed. It's basically an 87 GT, except as a notchback and different steering wheel. Everything else is basically the same... which is what I personally prefer.

I'd buy that right now if lived up there.

Just make sure that there really is no rust. Do you know how to check the upper frame rails? Will the seller let you? Can you pull back the carpet in the trunk and check there? Those are the two most common spots for rust to start.

I'm the original owner of a white ' 84 2M4 purchased Dec 10, 1983 from Pontiac. Always garaged, no rust, 3800SC, 4-wheel drifts are fun!

No, it's of benefit to anyone/everyone reading the thread!

Quoting an entire post, complete with images, simply to make a comment is totally unnecessary. I don't know why people do it. All it does is mess up the thread and force viewers to scroll though a multitude of copied posts. <stepping down from soapbox>
