Of course it is a Pontiac GMC.

I do like the interior.

It's not based on an 88 chassis. Check out the strut towers. Has the 84-87 fasteners.

The other giveaway is the '85-'87 shielding on the Y-pipe, and the trunk blower pipe aimed at the coil.

I always found the Zimmer a fascinating kit car/ rebody, a large car with a small interior. Its heavy, its slow and was the ideal car for those that wear a black hat with a white feather. For $21K I would opt to purchase a well done custom Fiero.

Not a very pretty car in my opinion.
And "how to turn a fairly well styled europeen/japonaise influenced two seater car into one ugly typical american monstrosity!"

(I know I'm going to get banned for that! 😉)

I wouldn't say it was typical of the era at all, in the States or elsewhere. It was more of a throwback to the late 50's with all the chrome etc.

The absolute garishness of it all makes me think... pimpmobile.

Hmmm... I'm seeing a scale caricature of a Buick Riviera or Lincoln MK VII

Garish is the right way to describe these. It's so...much...and all of it wrong.

I dunno... I saw one once, and it looked kinda neat.

Kinda as David Hambleton said... it resembles those cars, but it does things to your brain as you approach it.
