I'm a horrible driver. We were both drifting to the right and I saw the end of the curve/turn2 so I realized I wasn't at WOT yet so I punched it. I have really bad instincts. In retrospect, I should have let him slide to my outside and straightened myself out then punched it. I believe I could have gotten inside by turn 3. Oh well. That's why you can't just be a bench racer. I felt the car lose traction and I thought I was gonna take him out and that would have been bad but luckily I just missed him.
It didn't help that I had a horrible launch and spun way too much unlike my first race's launch...[This message has been edited by lou_dias (edited 07-01-2024).]

I was wondering what happened there! Oh well, lesson learned. Thanks for the upload.

Slightly different angle ...
I think I may need to refresh my front suspension. I seem a bit bouncy front-to-back. I may have bottomed out on the driver's side front fender. Almost looks like I hit a bump coming out of turn 2...

Lou, I've never done this, so I'm not pretending to know anything about how to do it well. I was just wondering why you appear to be going into this first sweep so wide? I realize at speed when actually in the car that it would seem to be a lot tighter... but is there a reason to keep that much distance between you and the car on the inside lane? It just seems that being that much farther to the outside that you need to cover a much greater distance. What is the strategy here, other than obviously not wanting to bump cars? Or is there slightly more bank as you move a bit further out on the track or what?

Well, in the act, it looks closer and the more you're accelerating, the harder it is to turn.
Also, you missed the part where I said I'm a horrible driver - didn't you?

Yes, even at autocross that becomes apparent.
