Never seen this heat shield before... Iron Duke. (Page 1/1)

I've owned... I THINK three 4cyl Fieros prior to this one that my daughter has (1985 Fiero 2m4 SE 5-Speed). We're rebuilding her car, and decided to tackle the throttle body injection (TBI) unit today (along with the distributor which we finished).

From my years of Fiero parts, I found 4 TBI units in my storage unit a while back, and I took the best parts from all five (fifth came from her 85)... this basically meant a totally spotless throttle base, and a cleaner injection unit from another. We used all new seals, and a brand new AC DELCO / GM injector.

Anyway... on one of the TBI units, I discovered this cool little heat shield. Now, if you remember how the TBI unit is situated, the throttle position sensor (TPS) sits maybe an inch away from the exhaust gas re-circulation (EGR) valve on the intake. This is obviously meant to shield the TPS from the heat of the EGR... but I've never seen this on any other Fiero I've owned.

Was this something that came with the Fiero that perhaps had been removed from all the other Fieros I've owned, or is it from some other Iron Duke car?
