Not if Ferrari had any say in the matter!

Not really. It takes no creativity to copy someone else's design
The 86-88 GT is better looking to most, and is not a cheesy knock-off

Agreed... but perhaps it does take some "creativity" to copy a design at a lower price point... without sacrificing overall quality.

As the owner of an '86 GT myself, I personally can't agree with you there. I think the Mera looks great, and I'd choose it over a GT in a heartbeat. The biggest problem with a Mera (and possibly most/all Fieros) is the "dune buggy" stance they came with from the factory. In that image of the silver Mera above, it looks pretty silly being up that high. It desperately needs to be lowered... IMO. [This message has been edited by Patrick (edited 08-17-2024).]

i didn't say copy someone elses car.pontiac could have made it pantera like or something else with a low front end.the mera maker had no problem making it more sporty.

Richard, you quoted the wrong post. It's cam-a-lot you're responding to, not me. [This message has been edited by Patrick (edited 08-17-2024).]

IMO the 86-88 Fiero GT is just as nice looking as the Mera and they cost less. Meras may be nice collectibles but no body parts are available.

I agree, they do look better a bit lower. Only thing for us older guys is it makes it a little harder to get in and out of.

Oooooo... that's one beautiful looking Mera, Larry!
As one of the "older guys" here myself, driving a low car is just another reason to stay fit and flexible.
