Recently, it seems to me that every day I see a 'first-time' member posting a 'bizarre' question on the forum......
Is anybody seeing the same or it is only my imagination?------------------ Original Owner of a Silver '88 GT Under 'Production Refurbishment' @ 136k Miles

I suspect it might be that the idiotic movie F&F 9 has actually made the Fiero popular....I NEVER got compliments here in the SF Bay area- usually got looks of haughty derision and statements like "Yours must be the only Fiero that hasn't caught fire ten times!"
Recently I have been getting a lot of compliments- people have been taking pics of her and asking me about what I have done to her.
So maybe that stupid movie was blessing in (extreme) disguise.....

While filling my gas tank a few weeks back, I got compliments on my Formula from two different people. Kind of surprised me, as usually I'll go for months/years between compliments.
Regarding new members here, I'm always suspicious of anyone new who posts a question... and then promptly disappears.

This forum is no different than any other. You have the good contributing members then you have the beginners and the trolls. I believe it's possible that new Fiero owners will have a lot of questions. This should not be a bother as we probably all had questions when we got into this hobby. Years back the Fiero owner was younger. Today I see this hobby as being one primarily for middle aged and senior folks. We have some young members too but a portion of them may not know much about the car; hence the questions that were answered many moons ago. Finally you have the "flipper" who will own the car short term. Many of them have posted here. ------------------ " THE BLACK PARALYZER" -87GT 3800SC Series III engine, custom ZZP /Frozen Boost Intercooler setup, 3.4" Pulley, Northstar TB, LS1 MAF, 3" Spintech/Hedman Exhaust, P-log Manifold, Autolite 104's, MSD wires, Custom CAI, 4T65eHD w. custom axles, Champion Radiator, S10 Brake Booster, HP Tuners VCM Suite. I have seen it all.
When I bought my car I was the celebrity. Then I became the idiot that bought the car that burned.
Since 2010 it again has returned to the Fiero being seen by most as cool again. They say I wanted one. My friend had one, I want to buy one or I had one. All positive things.
The people buying today are people trying to get the car they wish they had or a kid trying to have a cool car that he can still afford. The collector car market is out of reach anymore and even daily drivers are not cheap.
The people come here need help but are not obsessed over their cars. Also kids today don’t do forums.
I meet many people who are working on cars and they just want it running and reliable. They are not going to join a club or go to a car show.
Also many Fiero owners are moving in. Some to new cars like Corvettes. My old club many members are Corvette owners and sadly a number of them have passed on. Those cars are now in hands of new Fiero owners.
Also a number of cars left in storage that expected to be with a ton of money that never happened. Many are selling yo recover what they paid. Those cars are going to many collectors. I have seen large car collections with a Fiero sitting in the corner.
The dynamic of the Fiero ownership is changing now we are 40 years in.
I was on the younger end of original buyers and I look around others who bought new are nearing 80 years old.

FYI note many new owners find these cars a mystery. They are just looking for help we learned 40 years ago.

I'd just attribute that to so many people being used to Facebook, where there is little if any accountability and people can ask a question and its no big deal if they never return, because since Facebook's archiving and search functions are so awful no one can find it again anyway.

And I attribute it to them being ignoramuses who were never taught any manners by their parents. Yes, I'm old school.
