My car usually passes it's smog-checks...but CA does not have safety-checks....the inspectors do warn me of a problem that I have- actually with all my cars- and even my boat....

Yeah, my controller sometimes says the same! But he drives Porsches very hard, so he's in no position to criticise...
As far as pollution goes, the Fiero is under the limit for it's age:

Well I removed my condenser. I am on week 3 from sanding and painting all the rusty parts but my front rails look like it was painted yesterday. I am waiting for parts so it is back to cleaning. It is just a little hot in Jacksonville Florida right now so I am not moving to fast. The front crash bar had some light surface rust that was it.. when I am done putting it back together it's going to the ac man for my ac to be fixed. I will take a break from working on the car because it has no fuel Guage. It will be the only part I have not touched on the car.
