Fiero carpeted door panel refreshening (Page 1/1)

Just curious if anyone else has thought of using one of these to freshen up Fiero lower door panel carpet? Because I’m computer ignorant, I don’t know how to insert a pic of a CLOTHES SHAVER. 🙁 Anyways, I have used them with good success for Fiero door panel carpet and also to shave/remove pills from the main floor carpeting.
There are two good reasons that they really help. One is that Fiero carpeting seems to be made from big loop (and coarse) fibers and when you put lots of wear & tear on them, they tend to fray (get kind of fuzzy) and a clothes shaver is needed to remove that. And 2nd, because the Fiero interior designers chose to put carpet in the lower door panel section, they tend to get frayed big time through the ingress and egress of your SHOES.
Have you used a clothes shaver in this way for your Fiero interior? Kit

I don't see what you're linking to, there's nothing there...

But I ran into possibly a potential fix for this. If the Fiero's carpet is made of synthetic (plastic) fibers, you can always carefully use a heat gun (not a hair dryer, but an actual heat gun from Harbor Freight).

I have a very Craftsman style home, so I've decorated it as such. I did some of the wiring harness for my daughter, and used a heat gun for the shrink tubing. Well, I have one of those craftsman-style loop rugs that people put in their family rooms. I accidentally blew it past the edge of the carpeting where it was beginning to fray. Immediately, the little fibers shrank and the carpet looked like it was brand new in that corner.

I haven't gotten to the interior yet, but I plan to see if that works. Maybe give that a try (not too close) before you use a shaver.

i used break cleen on the door carpet and it pulled right from the door card along with the glue. Then i recovered it in new carpet.
