Dealer has a nice looking 93 Mustang for sale for $8,000. While I didn't driver the car I did take a look at it. It is said to be an anniversary edition and a 7 UP model. It's dark green with a white top and interior. 72,000 miles and is in very nice shape. It looks like it was garaged and well cared for. Some chips in the paint, but no sign of rust or rot. The GT wheels are also clean with no sign of stains from brake dust, and the top looks new. The was on his lot since last summer, so I think the price is to high, but I have no idea of the value of it. I tried Kelley, but the list didn't go back that far.
Any thoughts or the value of it? Thanks.

I think '93 was the last year of the Fox bodied cars. I'd say it's worth closer to $5k.

93 is the last year of the fox body. That is low mileage . I bought my 98 gt convertible with 78k almost 2 years ago for right at $7k tax tags inc. Search around and see what the fox bodies are going for in your area ok n autotrader.com and check kbb.com

From Hagerty's:
http://www.hagerty.com/arti...of-a-different-color
The 7-up was a 1990 model ONLY so either the 1993 is a "tribute car", the dealer listed the wrong year ( the 90 through 93 years are very similar) or Hagerty's is wrong.
I've had three Fox body 5.0 Mustangs. A coupe, hatchback and convertible. They were all pretty much bullet proof except for leaky rear main seals. I never did anything about the seals as it was more of a nuisance than a problem.
With 72,000 miles I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
Edit:
Couple of things -
1- Most convertibles are automatics with 2.73 axle ratios. Mustang guys call them "secretary rears" because most of the convertibles were bought by secretaries..........NOT the other thing. Replace the rear with a 3.23 or 3.56 ratio unit and it will really wake up the car. Cost about $200 including installation.
2 - Install a B&M shift kit if it's an automatic. The difference is unbelievable. My first two cars had 5 speeds but I wanted a convertible and since it was way after production had stopped I had to buy on the used car market. All the cars I could find were equipped with the terrible AOD automatic. In desperation to get some sort of response out of that dog of a tranny I had a shift kit installed. It offers faster engagement, quicker shifting, smoother operation, and increased service life. It made such a different that I would rather drive the auto than the 5 speed.[This message has been edited by RayOtton (edited 04-15-2014).]

I checked the car on the dealers site and it states that it is a 90 there. I found another 7 Up car listed for $5,000 but the seller states that the top is bad and from the pictures posted it is no where near the condition of the one I looked at. $1200 bucks for a top around here. Is it $1800 better shape? $8k sounds a little high but in the ball park but if you want it and it is in good shape. I would bet $6500 would take it, Not many good clean fox bodies around here. you will have more fun in the car than with the $8k burning hole in pocket..lol------------------ 87GTseries 1 3800sc (7.597 @88.53 1.579 60ft) (series II swap in progress) 85GT Northstar/ 4t80e 86GT 3800 n/a---sold Northstar Rebuild

In the north we have issues with rust and finding a rust free, older, car is pretty hard. Prices climb accordingly. Sigh...

The price is high for a regular '90 Mustang but not far off considering the mileage but for a 7-up car the price is probably pretty close.
A few stats for the 7-up special addition:
1- 4103 were produced
2 - All Limited Edition convertibles were LX models with 5.0L engine, Emerald Green Clearcoat Metallic paint, white leather interior, white top, handling suspension, and power accessories
3 - 1,360 came with the five-speed manual and 2,743 had automatic overdrive
4 - 261 were exported
5 - 201 have been documented by the 1990 Limited Edition Mustang Convertible Registry as of 2013.
If it were closer I'd be over at that dealership myself and offer them $6500 and settle for $7000.[This message has been edited by RayOtton (edited 04-19-2014).]

I agree with Ray! A friend had one with the stick and traded it two years later for a vette, hes still kicking himself in the ass. Its a limited model and the ones that are in good shape are hard to find. If you don't buy it ill let my buddy know about it, maybe he will trade his vette for it,lol!
