If you want something that would be fun and easy to get some HP out of sell the 3800 and do a little searching for a 90's Grand Prix TGP engine. 3.1 turbo Mclaren bread power plant. Fits nicely in the engine bay without a lot of frame cutting etc and can be built to hold its own. That’s on my future mod list. ;-)

Yep. 3100's and 3400's are also popular with the 1st Gens and are plentiful in junk yards. These engines can handle turbos as well. There are some N/A and turboed 3xxx powered Fieros on this site too.
