It's a 5 speed with I believe a stage 2 clutch, turboed, located here in Fargo. I have been asking $1800, but no one is biting. KBB and NADA list it around $2000 in fair condition. I would take $1500 just to make it dissapear frankly... needs bodywork and a new paintjob.
Sorry for highjacking your post Trivet

Finally got her...needs a new clutch, and some TLC.....but overall very good shape. Only 60,000 miles. Body is great, interior is very good.

I always liked the early generations Eclipses/Talons. Yours looks pretty good.[This message has been edited by carnut122 (edited 11-19-2012).]

In 1986 when the Fiero Gt's came out, I KNEW that would be my first new car. Unfortunately, I wasn't in the NEW car market until 1990. I ALMOST bought a 88 GT in 1990, but I wanted a NEW car. I researched sports/performance/just-damn-fast cars in my price range, and fell in love with the DSM's. After test driving (and damn near crashing) a Turbo Laser, I was hooked. The ONLY new car I have ever purchased was my 1990 Plymouth Laser RS Turbo on February 21st, 1990. My daily driver for 7 years.
After the 2nd kid....just couldn't get away with such a small car. I knew that car would be the one I would talk about for the rest of my life. Handled great, fast as hell, and was just too much fun to drive. Dozens of impromtu drag races (only one loss in 7 years ), SOLO II Auto Cross racing, and 70,000 miles of pure pleasure. But time to grow up.
Well, that 2nd kid is now 15, and he's heard all about dad's car. My son is as excited as I am, and I'm thrilled to share this with him. She needs a bit of TLC, but other than the clutch, it appears to be a lot of "little" stuff. I budgeted another $2k to get her road ready, but I know I'll be spending a lot more than that in the future. But first things first, get her on the road.
I was actually looking for cheap transportation for my 17 year old daughter when I came across this. It was what I was looking to spend, only 60k miles, great shape. Long story short...my daughter gets my car (2004 Kia Spectra) and this will be my new DD.
Any tips/tricks/suggestions/recommendations, etc... please let me know!

trivet --- I've had precisely one new vehicle in my life (my current motorcycle) and probably never will again. Financially, it's a hell of a lot smarter to buy slightly used. I just wanted ONE new vehicle, just once. I figure I've got 6 years to wear this bike out then I'll buy another one about a year old.

Trivet, I had a '93 Talon TSi; it was probably the nicest vehicle i've ever owned. I miss that car, and I'm envious you found a nice one.
Speaking of which, I have the rear "TALON" and TSi" decals, new in the dealer box, free for you if you want/need them. Had them left over after some bodywork on the car.
Just let me know.
