Some people just rebuild the insides and dont bother to make it pretty. Looks from the photos like a pretty solid car. If it starts and runs good, Id buy it for the asking price, but id try lower. Id trade a stock Fiero in average shape in a second and I dont even care for Duster/ Darts. Looks to me like it just needs the fender, like he says, the whole headlite bucket is part of the fender. I dont even think the front bumper is damaged much (just straightened). I see plenty of bare bodies of these go for more than that with no drivetrain even in them. Rebuilt nice, you can have a $15K car. Be hard to ever get close to that with a stock Fiero. You cant hardly break a Torqueflight tranny, so you could melt the tires off...something else that you wont do in a stock Fiero. I will say for handling, Fiero would def be the winner. Dart/ Dusters with 340 are awesome street beasts even stock. They manage to eat Z/28s.

I don't know. I would make sure you get receipts for the rebuild and talk to the machine shop if you can.

You'd be swapping for a project car.
And that's if the floors, trunk, and lower rear quarters are in good shape. On a quiet night, you could hear those cars rust.

That is, if it's a 727. If it's a 904 (which came in the small cars, including my '73 318 Barracuda) it won't be any more sturdy than a TH 350.

Edit - It's also a repaint. Everything under the hood is blue.

Doesn't look like he even put a new air filter on it. If he was that cheap when rebuilding the engine I would wonder how well it was rebuilt.

Like I said, I find them around here for $3000 with no motor or tranny at all. I know because last year I hunted everywhere within 100 miles for a mopar project. Floors, quarters, fender tops and cowls do rust out bad...but like I say, the photos look like its OK there. I think 904 trannys are called Powerflights. I cant say for sure though, every mopar Ive had had a 727 torqueflight. If this one runs OK, it will take some money thrown at it to be nice...paint and interior is a must. It dont claim to be a show car. If its mechanically good, I could make a show car out of it for less than $2,000 and sell it for $10,000 without blinking. Too bad im selling almost everything to move or Id buy it myself if you didnt.

If you don’t believe it was rebuilt just run a compression test on all the cylinders should be almost exactly the same. If not it wasn’t rebuilt.
