If the computer thinks the engine is cold, it will run rich and /or in open loop mode. I'd start with the coolant sensor and go from there. I'm glad you're feeling better!
^ What he said. You can also check it the same way you check a Fiero CTS, because it's the same sensor. If you know the one in your Fiero is good, you could even swap them.

Thanks to both of you for your help. I will check the coolant sensor--it may not be plugged in. I bought the truck from my brother in law who had butchered the wiring under the dash and tried to repair something he couldn't identify under the hood. His wiring nightmare had to be repaired before I could get the truck running much less get turn signals, cabin lights, etc.
