He says they do spread bore parts all the time, no problem. That's pretty dope.
He didn't want to discuss detail via email, but suggested I call him to talk about the finer points - injector size, fuel pressure, etc. I am going to try and do that on Thursday. I imagine I'll still need a bunch of components to make this work - I just have no idea what the are. I suspect given this guy's business, he'll be able to point me in the right direction.

I didn't get a chance to call about the TBI adapter today, but I did find Dave:

He custom builds late-style 8-pin HEI modules into old skool distributors for about two bills. A converted distributor, a TBI adapter, and some junkyard parts sure do seem like a pretty complete way to modernize the Fleetwood. Kinda getting excited about this.

a good canidate for a TBI setup would be the 7747, and the $42 mask. The 454 TBI uses 2" bores rather than the smaller 1 11/16"(iirc) bores from the SBC/4.3.
there is alot of support at the gearhead efi forums...

Thanks for the link!
I am still pursuing this, but the short-term pressure is off. I managed to grab a brand new Edelbrock 1406 with spread bore adapter and air cleaner assembly for under $250, which (hopefully) gets the car back on the road... I got side-tracked with repainting the valve covers, manifold, and pushrod cover. I'm hoping to put it all back together this weekend, then I can work on getting the TBI stuff together in an intelligent fashion. I have a personal rule about only one dismantled car at a time, and right now I've got two. Having an immobile 22' long 5500lb car sucks.

Also the 1 1/2 ton box trucks running the 366BB also uses the same ECU as the 454 . Parts from a wrecked box truck usually go cheaper than those from a salvage yard as box trucks are usually completely totaled out.
