After seeing this in person, the pictures really do not do it justice. This color really pops! Nice job Joe

See you Sunday at Jimmy's place

Thanks Dr. W! I agree the color is phenomenal, far more brilliant than I thought it would be. I was expecting a typical dark metallic red but this color is something else and in the sun it really sparkles.

Yesterday I didn't get as much done as I planned. My agenda was to go out first thing in the morning, fix the fender and reprime it, wet sand the decklid while that was drying, then wetsand the fender then shoot the decklid, the fender and the glovebox door in color. What really happened is that it rained all morning so I couldnt shoot the primer so I worked on wetsanding the car some more. After lunch it stopped raining so I was able to get the fender primed and wetsand the decklid and later the fender. The body is taking FOREVER to wetsand so I am a bit further out than I thought on getting that in color. My next day off I should be able to get the decklid, glovebox lid and fender in color and then keep working on the body. Hopefully I can get that ready for paint for the next day off.

I literally just came in from the garage painting the other fender, the decklid and the glove box door. I think the clear is still wet. Nevertheless, here are the pictures I just took

You can see my ugly mug in this one

Spent the morning wet sanding the body but Im still only about 3/4 done. Im going to try sanding it after work this week so I may be able to paint it still next Tuesday but if I cant get to it I may be delayed a week.

Great work! TYVM for the updates. Great color paint. Whats your planned color scheme?
joesfiero SEP 02, 10:11 AM
Its all going to be that color red. I like the white on the sides of the bugs like it was when I got it but for a few reasons we just went with the single color and the interior is all black with a white headliner. We are going original reproduction for most new parts.
