2007 tC, bought new.

Mods: Pioneer 7" nav system, A/D/S/ amp + speakers, all LED interior lighting changed to blue after a week with the sickly yellow.. Short shifter with stiffer bushings helps one of the dislikes only a tiny bit, but looks good. Full-length red 3rd brake light from eBay - couldn't stand that stock only had 5 LEDs in a 2' long bar; even if I never see it!

Likes: all glass roof with big sliding sunroof / built-in shades. Fast enough for a commuter without getting into "too" much trouble.. It'll do 130 on the GPS and still feels OK. Zero maintainance cost beyond oil and pads so far with 70k. Cheapest decent new car available when I was looking in '06. Stock flip-down radio cover makes the Nav invisible to casual criminals. Tons of cargo space with the seats down - have 4 18" wheels for the Fiero in there now + other parts..

Dislikes: 5 speed trans.. Worst manual I've driven - highway driving puts you @ 3,500 - 4k rpm; needs 6th gear.. Trying to shift fast at all feels like you're crashing into the gates of a gated shifter - you either push through or shift slow.. Friend's car felt the same, synthetic didn't help any. I've heard the auto is terrible too. Not the greatest in snow, even with snow tires. But what is without AWD? Last one: all the tC-driving tuner kids are too cool to wave like Fiero or Mini Coper people, and the forums are full of them.. I gave up on them after a year.

I'd buy it again, but the prices for used dropped like a rock; I should have waited but needed something quick, with a warrantee..

i hear ya on the trans man, seems a little off for the motor its connected to but bearable, i really don't like the shifter setup at all and wish i could change that. i been looking into power mods myself but i haven't found any good setups yet. mine is stock but has some TRD goodies somebody put on

I'd love a turbo, but 1st gear already runs out in a few seconds - you'd have to take off in 3rd..

I had actually bought a mint '88 coupe to get my Fiero "fix" while working on my 3800 swap, but the Scion was faster and I found myself not driving the '88 at all and eventually sold it. Can't wait to get the Fiero on the road, but it keeps thunder storming every weekend! Getting annoying and surprised my buddy hasn't towed it out of his driveway yet.

I've also done the "new wheels" mod, where you take it to a dealer with a new tire machine, and they completely destroy all 4 wheels then try to convince you the deep, shiny gouges in the aluminum and fresh paint flakes were done by the last tire installers. (also them) Took me a month to get them to pay for replacements. "we have a brand new machine so we could do the new 22" factory wheels (Dodge dealer), there's NO way it could have done that!". Except when he finally put a damaged one on the machine and the tool lined up with the gouges.......
