I finally got some things rearranged financially and have finally had a chance to begin work on my 2 other cars, my 00 Z28 and 05 GTO. The GTO has the typical suspension woes from being fully strapped down on a shipping crate for several months and 155K miles of hard Daily driving. It is in desparate need of some bushing replacements, and a little bit of AC work. My 00 Z28 on the other hand, I took a loan on the car after I payed it off in 05 and sank the whol 12K into it. After putting everything together, an accidental downshift to 2nd gear at 80+ MPH with 4.11's caused piston to valve contact leading to the demise of the LS1. It has sat patiently waiting for some loving, getting passed up by several other projects until recently. Last month I scored a low mileage LS1 that was disassembled, catalogued and crated for 700$ (cheap in LS1 terms). Even had a complete gasket kit with it. Could have reused the bearings and rings but decided to do it right, and got new ones along with new ARP rod bolts, and a mellings high pressure oil pump and everything else to finish the rebuilding my LS1 and getting it back on the road. Now just waiting on the time to get to it. Once those 2 are squared away I can dive headfirst into my 3800 SC swap in my Fiero!
