Gauge for rear tank works fine. When switched to the front it goes to empty. I unpluged the front tank at the frame and it went to full. So I'm assuming the sending unit is bad (shorted out). Am I thinking right? ------------------ 85 GT 3.4 14.9 @ 90 1.9 60' Old TH125/3.06 Unknown New 4T60/3.42

Can you run a jumper wire to the back sending unit to see if it's the sending unit? I think you're correct about the sending unit. Then again, maybe it's a bad ground. Check both sides of the plug for continuity to ground. One of the sides should be the ground.

I believe i have found the problem. It has taken awhile ,having to figure out how to get the fuel lines off, had to get a special tool to insert to get them off. And i had to do some grinding on the tool to get it in far enough to work. Well the float has a hole in it and apparently just sat on the bottom all this time. I did put an ohm meter on the plug and moved the arm, got 16-220 ohms from lowest to highest level. Now i'm having trouble finding a float. None at auto zone, advance auto, oreilly's, koi and no luck at napa. Well advance auto can get one but takes 2 weeks to get, i may have found one on ebay but tomorrow i'll try ford dealer. Oh well could be worse. Just thought i'd inform everyone of my findings. Hate it when someone has a problem and they don't tell what they did to fix it or how they found the culprit. Have a fiero good day. Rick
