So i finally got around to getting her to the test station well a few things arouse. One. She overheated during the preconditioning i found out why and have fixed that. But my need is why she needed preconditioning. I filled it with premium and i've seafoamed the hell out of it. I drove her about 20mi. And had it nice and hot when it went in.
The test was aborted when it over heated. So i never got any numbers but any advice to get her to run clean for the sniffer?

I believe that preconditioning just sets the operating parameters of the engine in such a manner that it will produce consistent results.
The first thing is to just make sure all your emissions controls (EGR, etc.) are working properly, and that it's in a good state of tune. If all of that is normal, and the cats are not burned out, you should be good to go.
Did it fail before?

make sure the goon, testing it after you fix the overheating.. doesn't enter the car as the turbov6 or it'll fail no matter what you do.. I've also found that hollowing out a spark plug and putting it in the spot of the o2 sensor, and while running, spray carb cleaner into the exhaust to clean the converter of all the crap.. helps big time before going in.. if you have the dual converter option you might have to do both sides.. the sbc with bad valve seals, and the blue puff at start up. is enough to coat the converters with junk that it'll faill. the drilled out centered plug and carb cleaner sprayed in with hose.. clears this up.. be warned,, anything behind the car will get covered with crab as it come out the exhaust pipe..

I got the a/c line figured out. Kinda ghetto rigged but it'll work until my next junk yard trip.
My next issue is i failed again due to the egr valve solenoid and egr temp sensor.
These two parts are not available anymore not from gm and no aftermarket or anything.
Does anyone know about the limited parts exemption for smog in cali? Since i failed due to a part i cant replace because it doesnt exsist anymore.

If you haven't already, sign up at thirdgen.org Best place to get these things. Other than finding a good used one, you are pretty much out of options. i remember throwing out BOXES of these things when we did carb swaps on them I could be wealthy with the amount of odd ball stuff I tossed over the years....
