mustang 302 carb rebuild kits? Do they exist?!?! (Page 1/1)

Long story short, I am putting together a mustang my dad has let sit for 18+ years. Anyways, it won't run presently, fuel leaks out of the carb, so I figure between sitting forever, and it should be cheap, I could rebuild the carb. Sounds simple, mustangs are everywhere and parts are easy to find right?

Well, as long as you aren't looking for carb stuff it is easy to find parts for. I can't find a carb rebuild kit to save my life. I've looked at auto parts stores, I've looked on jegs, I've been on ebay for an hour. Sure, I can find them for the 3.8 and the 2.3, cuz I'm sure many more people mess with those rather than the V8 cars.

So anyways, that said. It's an 83 GT, 4 barrel. If you know where I can get the right carb rebuild kit right now, I will hug you. Well, or I won't hug you if you're more likely to help. I will tell you thanks.

Does it have the odd-ball Holley 4180? They do make rebuild kits for those. I actually have one in a box here somewhere...

GP Sorensen makes a kit for it, Advance Auto sells it for $35ish, Part # 96-503B

If you'd rather not want the worry about rebuilding it yourself. Try
Www.guaranteedcarburators.com (spelling?)
I've found them to be not only the best warranty out there but at the lowest price. Personally they have gone above and beyond for my carb needs.
