OBD-II Info? (Page 1/1)

I'm interested in learning more about OBD-II computers and tuning. Does anyone have any recommendations on material to learn, software to use, tools, etc?
This is strictly for personal hobby use so I don't need anything like a dealer setup.
I've been using code readers to diagnose P codes for some time, but I haven't even scratched the surface reading the freeze frame data and interpreting what it really means. I'd like to start learning from a diagnostic perspective and venture into tuning as I learn.

I have a bluetooth OBD-II reader on order and will play around with it and Torque on my phone for reading data to start with. (I also have a traditional code reader as well).

I may ask on some of the LS1 forums I'm on, but honestly I have higher confidence in the technical knowledge level of the forum in general here.

Depends what you want to tune.. the DHP is my tool of choice for 3800, 3400, and some other V6 applications between 97 and 2004..

But for newer cars and more options, there is HP Tuners (get the pro) it's a token / credits based system. So each time you tune a car you need to buy credit for it.

Then there is EFIlive.. very expensive...
