I know it is posted somewhere, just haven't found it yet.
Looking for the wet engine weight of a fully dressed 3800 series 2 supercharged. If anyone knows, I'd like to too I'm thinking just shy of 500 pounds. sound about right?
Only reason I ask is the engine in my car is getting some miles on it, 202,000 and counting. Plus its boosted to hell, 22 psi at max, so I am looking for a replacement when it pops I know the engine and automatic trans together with all accessories weigh in at 400 pounds - it's a volvo 2.3 5 cylinder. And I am thinking a 3.8 s/c with a 282 or f23 manual trans would suit the old 850 wagon nicely, as long as it is within 200 pounds - I can compensate for that with stiffer springs and roll bars, anything more and I will look for a newer volvo turbo block (should do it this way anyway, but i like thinking stupid)
