Flush mount lip spoiler not sitting flush. (Page 1/1)

I have an '02 Lincoln LS that I purchased a factory replica spoiler for made of fiberglass. The edges won't sit flush and I was wondering what modifications to make to it so that it can be flush with the trunk.

Thanks Guys

Simple, bend up the corners of your trunk lid.

Unfortunately once the resin has cured for fiberglass or carbon fiber, you really can't correct any major flaws like the wrong curves or sharp angles. The only thing you can have done....and even this is a stretch....is to have the bottom sanded down, the correct curve bent and held in place, and more fiberglass added to the bottom. Once this dries it MAY keep the new shape due to the new fiberglass and resin that was added.

Doesn't sound promising. Is there really nothing that be successfully done? I have seen such magic performed within these walls and thought no doubt someone here could help out.

If you haven't drilled holes yet, I'd send it back. Maybe someone can fix it for the right money and maybe not but why spend tons of money fixing something that can just be returned for a refund?

I did drill holes in the trunk. I just talked to a representative from the company and while on the phone I emailed photos. She said she would look into it.

If they won't take it back, you could have someone add fiberglass to the bottom to match the curve of the trunk lid. It wouldn't look the same but it would beat having to fill in the holes and repainting the trunk.

Your item has been proven defective. We are wanting to offer you half back for your convenience.

They want me to send half of the spoiler back. I will see if they will allow me to keep the top half.
