Hi all....if things keep up with California smog laws getting tougher, there is coming a day when my Fiero's will no longer pass smog. This has been on my mind lately. I'm not sure what I'm going to do about that. I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. Anyways, because of this I have been thinking about getting a 75 or down car so that I can do whatever mods I want and not worry about smog. I used to have a 73 Capri with the 2600 V6 some years ago and I really liked it. I'm not ready to get another car yet but would like to get my feet wet with any Capri owners out there. Input such as what you have done to it, cost of maintaining it, parts sources, availability, driving impressions, what problems have you have had with the car, etc Thanks, Kit

I remember those cars vaugeley but haven't seen one in years. A every week checking Craigslist for a wide area and maybe eBay you might find one. it may be some distance from you. You have to take what you find you won't have much bargaining power. Try goggling Capri V6 you might find a forum for them at the bottom of Wikipedia Yes I have 4 old but smog required cars and am worried too. The Democrat party here sees old cars as junk that pollute and the environment is their religion. 87 Fiero GT, 88 CRX Si, 87 Prelude Si, 95 del Sol VTEC. Fast & Furious Benghazi AP Wire Taps IRS Abuse EPA Abuse Obama Care Anti-Religious Freedom Abuse Various "Green" Loans & Grants.

Thanks for the input V8 Vega. I have already been perusing Evilbay and Craigslist. So far, only one available in Colorado and its a total rust bucket. That's ok, I'm not ready yet to get a Capri. Down the road, if I end up having to get rid of a car or two due to smog, I will look more seriously. Kit

Ok, thanks for all the tips on rust collection. You just reminded me that my 73 had a crank sunroof, just like the BMW 2002 my brother had . Sounds like you we're really into Capri's. I was too young back them. I ended up cracking my transmission case due to my excessive speed shifting one day. Yes , I really did crack it! After this I pushed it back to my apt complex and then let it sit until it got towed away. Unfortunately, all that is true. That ended my relationship with Capri's.

That was the first car I ever owned. I loved it but I was 18 at the time and ran the crap out of it until I broke a timing belt. I've considered looking for another to build some day.
