Nissan Pathfinder automatic transmission problems (Page 1/1) yellowminion AUG 01, 06:42 PM Looking for some insight here. Ive already checked the transmission oil and that was fine. Ive checked the shift linkage and that seems fine. Transmission oil was dumped out and redone last year. This is my wifes car, here is what she said happened. Wifes words: I was driving my SUV and after I parked it at a mall when I came back I was unable to switch it into gear. I tried switching into R D 1 and 2 and no luck. It just revs but doesnt catch the gear. Ive tried switching the 4WD options and then trying the gears again but no luck. If I turn off the car and leave it for a few minutes SOMETIMES it will catch the gear but as soon as I slow down to almost a stop or come to a complete stop I lose the gear again. The car was running otherwise fine until this happened. Oil changes are up to date and transmission fluid was done (draining) last year.
