Austins, Allards?. (Page 1/1)

I work at a VW specialty garage, and we get some crazy cars.
Most recently a 1951 Allard, and a 1934 Austin American.

I've been told the Allard is 1 of 6, used to be 8 but two have been destroyed.
And the Austin is 1 of 4-5.

Also get some Super Vee's, and tons of older VW's.

All I know about Allards is that the guy who created the company won the Monte Carlo rally in an Allard. The program I was watching said he was the only person to win it in a car bearing his own name, but it was from 1981.

Just caught a glimpse of a mid-engine MG like this a few weeks back.

Is it a J-2? You see them entered in vintage races sometimes. '

Not sure about 1 of 6, but there weren't many of any of them. From what I read they usually had big American engines. Cad Allards and some Chrylser Allards have been mentioned.

I THINK that the Briggs Cunningham team might have raced them at LeMans. (edit -- no he didn't)
