Hey! I've been looking around for some T/As because in the future when I have the money, I'm planning on buying one. Preferably a WS6 equipped model. I'm so in love with them, I can't stand it. My father owns a 2002 Firebird, so obviously you know where I got the bug, and I was wondering if anyone had any opinions on the car? Mind you, this'll be a few years into the future before this even becomes feasible.

A friend has a 2001 Trans Am convertible. Nice car, plenty of power and looks good. Like any later model car the interior is a little boring though.

I happen to love the interior, I think it's actually very nice. Albeit, a tad cheap, but still pretty nice.
And how come it sucked working under the hood?

I have a 2000 TA convertible. I dig it. The hard part is finding one that hasn't been abused at a reasonable price.

Because half the engine is up under the windshield. Emissions crap all over everything makes getting to anything difficult. You learn ways around it, but it's a PITA.
See those 4 runners on the intake manifold? Yeah, it's a V8, so the other half of the engine is up behind the windshield.[This message has been edited by Formula88 (edited 09-12-2013).]

I noticed that the engine in my father's Firebird looked extremely pushed back. And I got a red X for the picture how are they on mileage? Are the engines pretty resilient?

Being a domestic used vehicle, it should be reasonably priced and parts should be available at a reasonable cost. I'd say, "Go for it!"

This is the one I want. Of course, it's going to be a long way away before I can afford it. First I need to save up some money for college and buy a winter beater. When all of that is done, then I can get my T/A.

My advice is that if you want to go fast, choose another platform. The cars are fairly surefooted until you start upping the power. Then it becomes a tail happy beast fully intent on biting the hand that steers it. traction control is a must, big 17" STICKY tires are a must, and don't even think about nudging the throttle in the rain. So many stories go the same..... performance minded enthusiast wants an F-body. searches and finds one, not long after is looking for replacement body parts because they spun it into a tree, wall, light pole, etc.... If you want a nice driver, get a V6 and go with dress up items. At least you won't be trying to keep the tail in line at the slightest sign of wet pavement. ------------------ 84 2.5 87 328 GTB replica 87 Coutach replica
