Whatever happened to the new sporty car/pickup thing (like an El Camino)? Cancelled? (Page 1/1)

I forgot which car company was going to make it, but I do remember reading about it here on PFF about 2 years ago I think it was.
Anybody know why we haven't seen it yet?
Also, I noticed several small pickups aren't being made anymore - Mazda, Subaru, etc. It's all SUV's now.

I thought it was GM and they were only going to make it for the Australian market.

Those are made by Holden. They even put the new Camaro front ends on them. Pretty slick

Yup, I remember that thing. I am guessing the sales would have been pretty limited and therefore not brought to the US. Sure, there are a few who would buy it, but overall, they need lots of sales to make it viable (and for the company to be profitable).

I liked the old.... 60's versions, but the later ones don't really make sense, as we have smaller trucks (well, we used too have a lot of smaller trucks). That made this vehicle unnecessary.

Ooooh, that's nice!

I'm saddened that they canned the G8ST. I couldn't have afforded a new one, but I was looking forward to buying a used one in a few years.
