When you step on the brake pedal the head lights flicker. Does anyone know the reason why?

Alternator ......Check the ground connection ,then the battery connections.

Definitely look at the battery cables and grounds, and if it's an '06 or later do a thorough check of the "TIPM," or totally integrated power module. It's got issues, and headlight problems are often an early sign of developing ones. It was a dumb, dumb way to shave manufacturing costs.
