No wonder they weigh 4260 lbs. This boat is no sports car. From Motor Trend July 2011

It's what it is, a high performance muscle car, not a sports car. And it will run circles around any Camaro made in 1969 on the track that doesn't have so many mods that it's just another modern car with old skin on it. Factor in the airbags and crash protection chassis that the early stuff didn't have.

Drivers of the new Camaro are an inch shorter, six inches wider around the middle, or six inches wider across the back if female, than they were in 1972. The new one had to be bigger.

and thats the truth.....

The newer one doesnt have the great looking proportions the old one does either. Same to be said about the Challenger. I wonder how a newer Camaro red lite performance compares to a 69 Camaro with the same rated hp engine. I can bet the newer ones handle better...old muscle/ pony cars were never known to stop or turn very well. Ill still take a 327 old Camaro over any new one without even blinking.
