I have a 2000 jeep Cherokee that has no heat at idle. Just changed the thermostate and flushed the heater core. I have decent heat around 2000 rpms. both hoses are hot at the heater core. Any help Thanks

is the cooling system full? sounds like an air pocket or low coolant level. ------------------ 87GTseries 1 3800sc (7.597 @88.53 1.579 60ft) (series II swap in progress) 85GT Northstar/ 4t80e 86GT 3800 n/a Northstar Rebuild

Did the water flow freely through the core? I'm guessing the doors on you HVAC unit are vacuum actuated and at low vacuum (above 2,000 rpm), the vacuum is not strong enough and the door to the heater core closes. So, I'll guess you have a vacuum leak.

if you did not use a vacuum pump or allow it to idle with the cap off till the thermostat opened you have an air pocket. If sure that is not issue , check blend door like mentioned above. ------------------ 87GTseries 1 3800sc (7.597 @88.53 1.579 60ft) (series II swap in progress) 85GT Northstar/ 4t80e 86GT 3800 n/a Northstar Rebuild

the water flows freely thought the heater core. I used CLR to clean it out and it came out just as clean as it when in. I also flushed a lot of water thought it with compressed air. I let it run for a while with the cap off and It keep pushing fluid out the top of the cap. I will give it another try. The doors are a control by electric actuators the only one that is vaccum controlled is the one that switches from your vents to the defrosts and such. Thanks [This message has been edited by fierofan25 (edited 03-18-2014).]

Make sure to let it run till the thermostat opens, the coolant will kinda spill a little on and off but when the thermostat opens the level will drop , then fill it the rest of the way up. I really feel this is where your problem is going to be.. good luck let us know if it all works out.
