My Intrepid is showing a P1492 code (battery temperature sensor signal too high).
Does anyone know where this sensor is located?

There's nothing under or near the battery. But I did find a temp. sensor in front of the A/C condenser. Its part number was 56042395 which is referred to as an ambient temp. sensor. I tested with an ohm meter and it seemed to be working based on numbers found online. Then I found the web page I was looking for all along.

Now, they got a battery temp sensor.....? As if cars arent complicated enough already. Whats really needed and no one has is an idiot sensor in the drivers seat.

On my Neon it's attached to the battery tray. It's just a domed plastic piece with a plug on one side and a thread and nut on the other. I broke mine when I removed the battery tray once...
