I was at my favorite local machine shop today and finally remembered to bring my camera. The owner has been racing an Opel GT with an SD4 in it for nearly two decades now and I got to see it up close. I thought some of you might be interested to see the set up and to know that he has a few spare parts he's ready to sell including one or two heads, I believe a crankshaft, and other bits and pieces. PM me if you're seriously interested. In the meantime, here's his car:
It makes 450 HP, it's got a dry sump oil system, a 5 speed Lenco transmission (I believe), and weighs in at 1,380 lbs. The best 1/4 mile time he's done is 8.63 sec but I forget what the trap speed was. It's a pretty neat little buggy.[This message has been edited by Bloozberry (edited 04-25-2014).]

I think you put one too many zeros in that weight. I can see 1380 pounds. Never get a 450hp, 13,800 pound car down the 1/4 mile in 8 seconds. I've driven semi trucks (tractor only) that didn't weight much more than 14k pounds.
