I've got a 2001 lesabre with electrical issues. It has an intermittent no crank problem after the battery went south. Replaced the battery and did the security relearn last night. I started the car a half dozen times. The problem was that the speedo and tach didn't work along with some of the driver information buttons (fuel info, gauge info, eng/met) odometer button works. I went out this morning and no crank again. I went out this aftermoon to check for battery voltage on the yellow wire at the ignition switch connector and the car started. Other problems still exist. Checked fuses under back seat for battery voltage and have 1 row of dead fuses. Checked for battery voltage on the 8 wires at the ignition switch connector and have voltage on all but 2. Green wire and tan wire have no voltage. I don't have a diagram to trace wires. Any help would be appreciated.

Without being able to dig farther into it, it sounds like you may have a bad ignition switch.

From what I read, I'd agree.

Ya, I'm going to have to stop by Advance Auto tomorrow to see if they have a repair manual with diagrams. Until I find out what the green and tan wires go to I don't have any idea where to look next.

I vote for failed ignition switch as well since you state that the DIP buttons don't work. Ive seen where the rear integration module (behind the rear seat) can go bad and cause a no start as well. You can try unplugging the module when you have the no start and see if it fixes it. More than likely its the switch though.
