Car doesn't produce warm air from hvac when started in the mornings while at idle. (Most of the time) However it does warm when I start to move and accelerate. Also most of time the lower the rpms the colder the air wants to get. Mainly around 1200 and lower. Car sees 230 on when driving normal on state road (55 mph) downshift into fourth it stopped and downshift into third the temp falls to 199 and on the rest of the fifteen minute drive it fluctuates between 198 and 207. Been having the symptoms for three weeks. At the start they were bad. I replaced The thrrmostat (had a shop do it) and symptoms got better but now fluctuate with intensity. I decided to do a third gear full throttle run to redline and through some of fourth and when getting out of the car I smelt hot antifreeze.

You have air in the top of your motor instead of coolant. There's a procedure for getting it out of the top. You might want to visit one of the Kappa forums to get the procedure.

Check for water in the oil, milkey brown or oil in the radiator.

You might also want to check your water pump for leakage.

Just had my oil changed at the time of the thermostat replacement and he said it was all good. No visual leaks on ground. Also Monday I was doing some spirited driving and taking rpms to 5000 tish and I got out smelt burning antifreeze and lifted up the hood the reserve tanks was lower and I filled it up on Tuesday and have had no.problems since. My guess from the start was air trapped and it seems to may have been it.

Did you have the coolant serviced recently? If so did they install the TSB check valves in the heated lines? If not, you likely have air in the coolant. I am told that no matter how much you drive it you will not get the air out.
