engine swap (Page 1/1) ron768 NOV 02, 01:54 PM Hello everyone, My stepson and I are swapping a blown 3.1 out of his 93 olds cutless and installinf a 89 2.8 in its place. This was done as money is a big consideration. We took all the sensors from the 3.1 and installed them on the 2.8, the coil packs, throttle body and all fuel injectors. We do not have the ecm for the 2.8. Will the ecm for the 3.1 control this engine? It is shifting fine now that we have adjusted the cable. No issues there. And the car is a 91 2 door cutlass . Not a 93. It has a 4T60 transmission.
