Do you think it would be a good buy for $3,450? It runs, but It needs TLC.......especially the interior. I would really like to get this as a project car and slap a historic plate on it. In Arizona, and vehicle over 40 years old qualifies for a historic vehicle license plate.

DO it!!!! My first car, which I still have was/is a 75 ElCamino SS. Believe it or not the 73-77 Colonnade cars (also referred to as G3's) were lighter and stiffer than the previous body style, but had no power because they were the first of the smog cars. The 454 option only had around 140 HP. You will have lots of trouble finding G3 specific parts because the aftermarket has almost completely forgotten they exist. Some stuff is out there like carpets, door panels, upholstery, automatic console parts, headliners and imported sheet metal, but stuff like swivel buckets and 4 speed consoles are unobtanium.

3.4 DOHC swap is complete and running, now just have to finish the rest of the car...
