I have a 2002 Sunfire that I recently put new front pads and rotors on. After installation, I pumped the brakes and count not regain a stiff pedal. I took it for a short test drive and the braking was pretty bad.
I realized the passenger side caliper piston was still compressed into the piston. The pads were not making contact, with the rotor. Thinking the caliper was bad I replaced it. I'm trying to bleed the new caliper but its difficult to get fluid into caliper. I even tried to bleed the brakes at the rubber hose. Fluid would not come out.
Does anyone have any idea on whats happening? The line going to the master cylinder seems fine, there's fluid in the cylinder, but it's just not going to the caliper. I've tired it with the car running and "on" but engine off. And I've pulled the ABS fuses thinking that was the issue. Still no luck.
Any ideas?

Check for blockage in the rubber hose. Not uncommon for the flex hoses to collapse internally.

And if that doesn't work, you may have to re-do the entire system. It sucks, but if you can't narrow down the problem, which has happened to me, treat it like you're installing a whole new system.

No luck there, I replaced the line with the same result. Thank you for the idea.

That might be next, the line feeds into the ABS unit. In the morning I'm going to pull the line going to the caliper out of the unit. Press the brake and see if fluid comes out of the unit.
How did brakes get more complicated like this? each pad and caliper took maybe 20 minutes to replace....then this happens...ugh
