This car is currently advertised Here in the local Craigslist. Can't say I've even heard of this car before, let alone ever seen one on the street.

There was an earlier Top Gear episode where James test drove a Mitsuoka Orochi in Japan. Looked like a fish. This is the first I've heard of any other cars from them.

Nothing wrong with that. I've always loved the Corvette Stingray.

Simply saying it doesn't make it so. Provide some evidence that the Mitsuoka Le Seyde has ever been offered as a kit car.

Oh no, I thought it was quite attractive actually. And I think the '63 Sting Ray is a beautiful piece of Americana.

If I recall correctly it was rather reasonably priced as well, but don't quote me on that one.

I have to say this is one unfortunate example of a vehicle looking like a fish though:

I was looking around on their website and I don't know if I would really call them a kit car company, they're more of a coachbuilder if anything. I was going to say kind of like the Mera to the Fiero, but I guess you could buy unbuilt Mera kits after production stop (unless I'm fabricating that from somewhere?). Mitsuoka is more like a Bertone, Pininfarina, Zagato in Japan. The Touring DiscoVolante is a good recent example.
There's a production history page on their website.

Which states; "1990 May launched the “Le-Seyde” (Modified car based on Nissan Silvia (S13)) with the limited run of 500 vehicles. This was one of our unforgettable history, in which all the 500 units sold within 72hours."
