i get this clunk when going over bumps in my wife's Mazda 5. i have checked the ball joints and the tie rod ends. There is no play at either 12 and 6 or 3 and 9 on either of the front wheels when jacked up. A friend of mine says it might be the macpherson struts or the topplate. Should i replace the macpherson struts and the topplate? How can i check this? thanks and blessings jon

We will be working on buddy's 2008 Mazda 5 right after we finished installing the new shocks and backrack headache racks on his truck. My initial research on front end cluck is the cowling the hits the windshield that produces the clunk sound. We will take a look at the sway bar bushing as well.
