My very first car (Page 1/1)

I almost bought a '69 Torino fastback...but then my father spotted a 1972 Mercury Comet GT- at the local Chevy dealership.....I was sort of interested- then the salesman started it up (Glasspacks!!).....I was madly, passionately in love! (Same basic chassis as a Mustang, but shorter and lighter)

Of course, the first thing I had to do after purchasing it was change out the glasspacks for turbo mufflers.

Then I got some ET 14 x 6 3/4 mags and E70 and F70 tires...Shift kit for the C4

A few months later I painted the lower body flat black (With a line so it didn't look like a old man with his paints pulled way up)

A few years later I found some Appliance mags that were 14 x 8- the car handled much better....later I added a rear stab-bar and did the Shelby mod on the front suspension..

Then around 1982, I created an air dam out of ABS plastic....

My first car...that was really mine. I drove my dad's 67 Mustang convertible in high school.

It looks green in the picture, but it was actually Acapulco Blue.

cvxjet, Nice 1972 Mercury Comet GT/ LOL at Old man w/ paints pulled way up. Describes it well.

Litespd, Nice Mustang

My first car 74 AMC Hornet Hatchback, was a good cruising car, survived my youth !
Came from the factory w/ 75 front grille - which I liked better than the 74's look.

258 straight 6, added Hooker headers dual exhaust w/ Hush Thrush mufflers

A Simca 1308 GT

Can't remember exactly what color it was, but I think it was brown-ish like the one above.
