I have a decent '04 Chevy Blazer (4dr/4x4/black) with 88k miles I'd like to trade for an '03+ Ford Crown Vic (preferably a P71). The only 2 things wrong with my Blazer are a missing A/C compressor (bearings were going bad so I swapped it for a bypass pulley last week) and a check engine light (bad purge valve solenoid...$30 part...it doesn't hurt anything). Cloth seats, power windows, locks, mirrors, tilt, cruise, pushbutton 4 wheel drive, 2" suspension lift with stock size tires. Everything works as it should. One small dent in the right rear door (down low...you won't see it unless you're looking for it). No rust. KBB says it's worth $5k-$6k.
The Crown Vic needs to have: p/windows, p/mirrors, cruise, tilt, A/C, no rust or dents and no remaining holes in the roof (plugged holes in the trunk are ok as long as no rust has started). Color is unimportant. Interior must be in good shape with no damaged seats. I understand, with a P71, I'll get cloth front seats and a vinyl rear seat and no center console. I'd prefer less than 100k miles. Must have good tires/brakes (since my Blazer has both). While I'd prefer a P71, I'd consider a non-cop car. I'm NOT big into chrome.
The trade would need to be within a couple hundred miles of Peru, Indiana as I don't have enough time to go much farther. I don't have extra money to put in the deal but I can get plenty of good Crown Vics/P71s for less than what my Blazer is worth so, if I have to, I'll save up, buy a Crown Vic then sell my Blazer (for a profit).
Anyone have a Crown Vic that meets my needs? Maybe a Grand Marquis? Regular Crown Vic? The more I look at them, the more I like them.[This message has been edited by Monkeyman (edited 05-18-2013).]
