** Yes this is a Ford Escort. Yes I am asking $4,700 because I have documents for the entire history of the car and have actually raised the value with all the repairs I have performed on this car. Not many people could say the same about the cars they drive, abuse, then sell with tons of problems/repairs needed. Not mine. I repaired anything that broke or needed fixed. There is nothing wrong with this car other than the weak A/C towards the end of summer. Mechanically sound, safe, and very clean! **------------------ Teaching exercise for 13+ years! 72,000 miles isn't low mileage. There isn't a single upgrade on that list, there are repairs or replacement parts, which don't add value. And you're asking 2 1/2 times KBB value. Good luck. Oh and EPA says 34 highway.

Reliability = Value. Documented repair history = value. Buying a used car with most repairs/maintenance completed = peace of mind.
Using kbb to value a car is not accurate. There is no such thing as a national standard for local price markets. Local supply and demand dictate price.
You do not like it? Buy a used Escort on craigslist for $1500 "kbb price" and enjoy spending $3,000-$4,000 replacing all the old rusted parts.
The buyer determines the price. You are not the buyer. You do not determine the price. When did you get your PhD in car pricing?

EPA is not a law. How you drive, what you drive, and what you do to your car dictates fuel economy.
Does being close-minded help you through life? Have you ever tried to maximize fuel economy in your car?
Use the link above and teach yourself a few things about saving $ on gas. Oh.... and improving your fuel economy

So you maintained the car. You're SUPPOSED to do that. Yes, a full maintenance history does increase the value of a car, but each time you do regular maintenance you don't increase the value of the car by that amount. You keep the value from declining faster.
You put in a new interior carpet and new steam cleaned seats at 72k miles? If you've been maintaining this car so well all along, why did they need replacing? Those "new" seats came out of a junk yard, didn't they? That's why you steam cleaned them.
If you get an offer over $2500, I'll be impressed. Good luck with the sale. You're going to need it.

why would you put - Custom Royal Blue brake calipers on a Escort? My carpets in my 86GT are original and they still look new. and its 12 years older than ya escort. Was the interior trashed and you replaced it? just alot dont add up here.

...and that is precisely why you're setting yourself up for disappointment setting that price.
For grins, go on your local Craigslist and look at what else $4700 might buy.

FWIW, I bought a 2002 Escort ZX2 5 speed with ~80k miles yesterday for about a third of your asking price.
