2004 Chevy Blazer 4x4 (former fleet car) (Page 1/2)

FS: I have a white Chevy Blazer. Has 160000 on the clock. 4 door. Runs really good. Pretty clean. Has some surface rust on the bottom of the rear bumper. Like I said, it's a former fleet car. At least that is what the dealer said. My girlfriend bought it from the Chevy dealer she worked at. These cars are pretty handy to have, but I have run out of room to keep it. I will post some pics and more info later as soon as my son is done rubbing on his Fiero. Asking 2700 or best offer.

FWIW, ALL the '04 and '05 Blazers were considered "fleet" vehicles. My '04 Blazer had one previous PRIVATE owner and it was still labeled as a "fleet" vehicle. At least in this case, that DOESN'T mean anything bad like it was a taxi or rental. Not a bad price, even with 160k miles.

For anyone not familiar with these trucks, all the '04/'05 Blazers were based on the Chevy S 10 and the 4x4s all came with the 4.3L V6 and automatic. Both are damn near bulletproof. (I had over 171k miles on my '96 Jimmy with the same drivetrain and I currently have just under 100k miles on my '04 Blazer and expect another 100k.)

Good luck with the sale.

Thanks. Fleet cars are taken care of with general maintenance schedules. That is important. Oil changes and the such. Since I had it regular oil changes have been done. Car has new tires and runs like a top. Thanks Monkeyman for chiming in. These trucks are truly bullet proof.

Most fleet vehicles are beaten on. Unless yours was owned by a police department, taxi service or rental company (and I'll bet money it wasn't), it WASN'T a fleet vehicle. Like I said, all '04 and '05 Blazers were sold as "fleet vehicles".

They truely are bulletproof. Other than surface rust on the frames (which all body on frame vehicles seem to get) and rear bumper rust, there's no rust issues. Not even if the paint's been compromised. Also, there are a ton of aftermarket parts for the Blazers. It doesn't matter how you want to modify it, higher or lower, there are parts to do it. And...since GM made zillions of them (Blazers/Jimmys/early Bravadas/early Envoys/S10s/Sonomas were all the same), most of the time, you can find replacement parts in any boneyard.

Would love to move this guys. Would like to have the extra cash considering I'm dropping 3000 on getting my Formula paint. Got an ad on CL as well.

Ok then. I don't think I'm asking too much but I need to move this. I'm dropping this to $3000. Toss out some offers, I'm ready to deal here.

Not bulletproof, sorry.
Documented common issues are front hubs, ball joints and remote oil filter apparatus leakage.

They are great trucks. I love my 99!

The MOTOR is bulletproof, not the truck. A quarter of a million miles isn't unheard of for the 4.3L. It's basically an old school 350 Chevy motor with 2 cylinders lopped off. Front hubs and ball joints are known issues for ALL GM trucks. Not specific to the S10 based trucks/SUVs. (I had to replace both of mine at about 75k miles.) The remote oil filter hose leaks are only on the 4.3L/4wd models (as those were the only ones with the remote oil filter) and only on the early 2nd gen trucks. The top crimp on the dual hose assembly was the issue and it was fixed by the time the late 2nd gen trucks came out.
