It's a question of whether a "cliffw" wants to see more discussion from forum members about this "Glass of Water and an Ice Cube" experiment, and how it connects to the things that various scientists and agencies (like NASA) are saying about how the oceans are changing and how that translates into predictions of higher sea levels all around the world.
If a "cliffw", who has become a stand-in for anyone who might be reading along here, would rather focus on something else and leave this behind—it's understandable.
What would a "cliffw" encounter, were he to take the "road less traveled" and activate this link? https://www.fiero.nl/forum/...m12/HTML/000452.html
In the 17th Reply or 18th Post in this other thread that I created, a "cliffw" would encounter a brief explanation of why I used the New Topic function to create a new thread. https://www.fiero.nl/forum/...HTML/000452.html#p17
There is insightful commentary from "82-T/A [At Work]", which I won't say that I agree with in its entirety, but I recommend it: https://www.fiero.nl/forum/.../HTML/000452.html#p4
"IMSA GT" checked in with a message that "punches above its weight". It's a brief message, but an important message. https://www.fiero.nl/forum/...HTML/000452.html#p22
"USFiero" presented what many climate scientists would regard as a contrarian opinion. https://www.fiero.nl/forum/...HTML/000452.html#p23
"MidEngineManiac" and "WonderBoy" provided some material that I would describe as topic-related infotainment.
It's all interspersed with my own thoughts and observations about the "Glass of Water and an Ice Cube" meme. I have contextualized what I think it means, in terms of this forum and how various other forum members (a few, beyond the ones that I have named) decided to become part of the discussion and what they had to say.
I feel rewarded by the vibrancy of the discussion that I provoked by creating this other thread. The link, once again: https://www.fiero.nl/forum/...m12/HTML/000452.html

This is funny. I am sorry. Not enough time I think for me to digest all your thoughts, but, you are on my list.[This message has been edited by cliffw (edited 11-20-2022).]

You of course are right, in your own mind / world.
More discussion would have happened in the "Subject" thread.
Carry on. Start another thread.[This message has been edited by cliffw (edited 11-20-2022).]

This was another thing that really bugged me. Trump was trying to do something nice. The team ASKED for these things, and he was trying to do something fun that they would appreciate. But of course, the media had to become total assholes and criticize all of it. I get it... that's just what they do... but I know that same media would have talked about how "down to Earth" Obama is if he had done something like this. Instead, it's Trump being "cheap."

Wasn't it like there was some kind of a problem getting food in time for all the players so he came up with this solution? Some Government shutdown or something.

I completely forgot about the government shutdown... but absolutely. Found this:
https://www.foxnews.com/pol...ll-champions-clemson
Trump paid for all of the food entirely by himself. Which, it's worth mentioning that Trump never collected a penny while in office... well, $1 specifically because it was required by law, but he donated the rest of his paycheck every single year. He left the White House significantly less wealthy than when he entered. This is in STARK contrast to every single other U.S. president.
The luncheon with Clemson was something they all loved... and there was lots of different food there.

That list of "mainstream media hoaxes" is full of baloney.
Just to take two examples...
"Trump saved nuclear secrets at Mar-a-Lago"
The government has not characterized any of the documents with classified markings that were seized by the FBI at Mar-A-Lago as "nuclear secrets". Nor has the government said that there were not nuclear secrets. Media reports have said that reporters have been told from their sources that there were document(s) with classified markings about a foreign nation's nuclear capabilities.
If anyone thinks this is a media hoax, it's because they do not understand the meaning of the word "hoax".
"Trump overpowered secret service for wheel of 'The Beast'"
The media covered the sworn testimony of Cassidy Hutchinson at the televised January 6 hearing, when she said that she was told by a Secret Service agent that Trump had lunged for the steering wheel of the SUV, as if he wanted to make the Secret Server driver turn and take him to the Capitol Building.
If anyone thinks this is a media hoax, it's because they do not understand the meaning of the word "hoax".
That list of so-called media hoaxes is as full of baloney as this meme, which recently washed up on this forum, where it drifted from the nether regions of the Internet and social media:
It's true, if you start with a glass of water at room temperature with an ice cube already in it, and wait for the ice cube to melt, the water level in the glass will not be any higher than it was before the ice cube melted.
What isn't true is the implication that climate scientists are so stupid that they don't know about this. Since this meme is misleading and kind of a hoax, I think it's not unfair for me to cross-link to another thread, where Reply 21 is perhaps the clearest and most concise explanation of how this meme deserves an "F" for Fail.

Uh huh... And Dems/Marxists can't get money to flood the world with their propaganda the correct way, they just get and launder phoney 1110 0100 1101 0110 money. One way or the other, they'll win through shadiness. Red Wave defeated by nonexistent monies. No different than the Jan6 clown show hauling out someone giving testimony about an event that couldn't be backed up and was denied by secret service. Hoax. No cross examination allowed. Other side not shown by bought and paid for using phoney monies fake news media.
Bottom feeding troll. Do you take your steaming bowl of BS with peanuts that you gobble down?
If you'll look at post on this thread, divide it by the 3 replies on this other thread relating to the topic at hand that I must cross post multiple times to get attention it, no I need, then take the location of those 3 replies from thier profiles. Equate those locations into number form, add up those numbers. Square route the answer and blah blah blah leaves ME to believe I am a gratuitous genius in my own A.I. mRNA infested grey matter! But then my math does not lie, it's in my MS access database of all threads I post and their replies. MY A.I. program profiles these people and breaks it down like the programs used by MY wannabe colleagues to analyze the US Constitution,/bill of rights/etc. specifically the wording of "arms".
You've got problems.

"Trump said drinking bleach would fight COVID"
Any number of media commentators applied "spin" to the President's remarks, talking about it as if the President had actually recommended drinking bleach.
But the direct media coverage of that White House-organized event was accurate. How could it not be? The event was televised as it was happening.
I'm seldom (if ever) at a loss for a "cross-link": https://www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum6/HTML/125006.html
