No. This is not how the so-called "leftist media" does their reporting.
I don't know exactly what distinction exists in certain forum members' minds between "media" and "leftist media", but I can construe from this remark that "VICE" is part of the leftist media as it's pictured within some other forum member's imagination.
It's a photograph that is not particularly puzzling or out of place within the context where it appears, but it's been given an oddly worded caption by someone who was involved in preparing the article for publication at VICE. Perhaps English is not that person's native language.
This photograph is one of 10 photographs that accompany the text of the article in VICE. All 10 photographs are captioned with a descriptive sentence and a photographer's credit or attribution. Of the 10 photographs, only this one photograph of a large caliber round has been captioned with such an idiosyncratic and oddly-worded sentence. All of the other photographs—9 other photographs in all—are captioned with brief descriptive sentences that are neither idiosyncratic or oddly-worded in the context of this kind of article.
"Do the math." Or the statistics. Singling out this one oddly captioned photograph from a sample size of 10 and ignoring the 9 other photos and captions is not even fairly representative of this one particular article in VICE, much less representative of VICE on the whole, or of the "leftist media" of which VICE is (presumably) just one example.
If this were a batting average for a Major League Baseball player, it would be recorded as ".100" and—this will not surprise or puzzle many forum members—it's a woeful performance for a position player or any prospect who hopes to become a position player, with the expectation of batting on a regular and recurring basis during Regular Season games. It's such an abysmally poor performance, it's even below the Mendoza Line. (That might puzzle any number of other forum members.)
Contrast this reality with the breezy overconfidence (bordering on total mindlessness) and the utterly cavalier insouciance of the obviously ridiculous assertion of "This is how the leftist [sic] media does their reporting."
This is just as childish as it would have been, on the part of some forum member, were they to have posted a photograph of a "rando" or nitwit who set fire to himself, reportedly because he was concerned about climate change, and then to have described said moron (presumably, for the forum's edification) as fairly representative of the "left", or of people who share concerns (or even just interest) in the possible connections between human activities around the world and the earth's prevailing climate and climatological trends and forecasts; i.e., the "global warming" thing.
This is just as pitifully uninformed as someone (a hypothetical, of course) posting a photograph of the notorious pro-Nazi rally of 1938 at Madison Square Garden in New York City, trying to pass that off (for the forum's edification) with the single descriptive word "leftists". As if there were no other comparable terms that make at least as much, if not considerably more sense in that context. If it would be a misleading oversimplification to caption such a photograph as "a gathering of right-wingers" or "reactionaries" or "anti-leftists", then how would it be any less misleading or more on point to caption such a photograph (in effect) as "a gathering of leftists"..?
This is just as ridiculous as so many of the shallow, sophomoric, banal and distinctly "middle school" memes and cartoons that could have emerged on this forum, in lieu of any actual attempt at a thoughtful observation or talking point, about the $80 billion in IRS funding that is part of the Inflation Reduction Act that was passed by Congress and signed into law by the President in 2022.
And what if—if anyone can imagine such a thing—a meme were to appear on this forum, of an ice cube floating in a measuring cup partly full of water that... well, don't even get me started.
Just hypotheticals, of course. As if such posts have ever actually appeared on this forum. Isn't it strange, how these "hypotheticals" come to my imagination? The details. The singularities, as it were. As if these were posts that I imagined seeing on this forum in a nighttime dream. One of those especially vivid dreams that people are known to awake from, and for a moment, before they are fully awake, the dreamscape seems more real to them than the world that they are awakening to.
Is this a shared experience? These imaginings. What say you, other forum members? IMWTK.

They do a lot of staging, and very badly at that. Greta the Green Great does this all the time.

Yes it is and I strongly suspect that there is one garrulous individual in this thread that has no clue why it is.
