quote | Looks like the usual combination of Leftist whack-job political theory and childlike wishful thinking.

That was like... if a reincarnated Adolf Hitler mysteriously appeared in current day America, and started out by decrying the amount of anti-Semitism he perceived in various circles of society.
There are some forum members who just "can't" get away with referring to anyone else as a whack-job.

These longstanding forum members are the forum's manifestation of political tribalism.
One of them greets Fred's new topic with the impertinent question of "What is the point of this post?" Duh. This is a free-ranging political discussion forum. It's hardly possible to think of a more ill-considered response or question. |

I'm not questioning his Cliff Pennock-given right to post it... I'm simply questioning the intent.
Fredtoast does not strike me as someone who actually believes he wants to have an honest conversation, and him posting this serves as nothing more than to try to create diversion about what he believes his perception has become on this forum.
It would be like if the crazy person on the street corner who rants continuously about totally insane stuff, decides that he wants to host a fire-side chat about ethics in the workplace. It leaves you recognizing that this discussion has nothing to do with intention of the topic, but some ulterior purpose. E.g., prove to himself that everyone is a meanie, or try to give the impression that he can be deep... etc.
